Also harvested the last of the swede, another row of carrots, the parsnips, and last rows of beetroot. These have their way into my freezer.
Once the deed was done I proceeded to weed the remaining beds and also planted out some more broccoli seedlings and some Chinese cabbage.
After that I decided to put in some foxgloves so these were planted along the fence line just before my vegetable garden entrance. Love foxgloves and I know the bees like them so with any luck these will attract the bees to the garden sooner rather than later.
Have also planted out some herbs, tansy, rue, feverfew and ? darn it I can't remember the last one.
Next on my to do list is to arrange for a truckload of mulch, to spread around the orchard. I also need to make surrounds to fit around the drip line of the fruit trees so the chickens don't do too much damage to the trees roots with all their scratching.
Also need to measure out the lengths of plastic so I can make a start on building some tunnel houses for the garden beds.
The blueberry bushes are covered with berries so I am hopeful of a good crop from the 3 bushes this year.
Haven't been as diligent as I should have been with the garden this year and so I need to lift my game a little.
